Kanye To Join Trump At White House For Music Modernization Act Signing
Today, President Donald Trump is set to sign the Music Modernization Act into law where he will be joined by Kanye West, Makhits Media reports.
As we reported last month, the Senate had passed the historic bill which brings in three pieces of music rights-related legislation, the biggest changes being related to rights holders being fairly paid in the new era of music streaming and the other that allows producers and engineers to be paid royalties when their songs are streamed. The bill was returned to the House for approval and then passed to President Trump whose signature is needed for the bill to turn into Law.
Trump and Kanye already had a previously arranged meeting for lunch at the White House. It was announced that West and Trump would discuss manufacturing and violence in Chicago, and job opportunities for former convicts.
